Outline of Programme The programme
includes topics such as wetland ecology, the importance of nature reserves
and urban conservation. Topics related to the syllabus may however be
requested, for example, placing special emphasis on plants, birds, or
pollution. The duration and details of the programme will depend on the
needs of each particular group.

topics such as wetland ecology and the importance of wetlands and nature
reserves are discussed, making use of slides and stuffed animal specimens.

based on the programme and include questions related to bird identification,
animal signs, pollution and plants. Teachers may compile their own worksheets.
In case of the above-mentioned, please send or fax a copy to the Environmental
Education Officer prior to the visit.
Number of Pupils A maximum number of 50 learners can be accommodated
per visit, i.e. one class per day unless classes are very small.
Assistance from Teachers and/or Parents To ensure that the guided walk along the visitor
path is a worthwhile learning experience, it is necessary for the class
to be divided into two or three smaller groups so that each group can
be supervised by one or more adults. It is therefore suggested that additional
teachers and/or parents accompany the class to assist. This especially
applies to large classes/groups of 40 to 50 learners. We suggest one adult
per 10 learners.
